PRINCE2® BLENDED TRAINING

International companies using self study as a method of training, optimise their training experience with a blend of self study and classroom training. PM Academy is also well positioned to assist our clients with this alternative approach.

We identified a need in the South African market for a more affordable alternative to classroom based training. Although there were various self study courses available from primarily UK based companies, it was still relatively expensive and was designed for the UK market.

The South African target audience demanded a blend of content rich interactive visuals and audio explanation that delivers information in an easy yet thorough method. In addition, the CBT must be based on a South African case study representing people from our rainbow nation through photographs, names and audio that the South African student can relate to. The case study must also be easily adaptable to cater for various market segments e.g. banking, IT, mining, etc.

Our team has produced a self study course that we are truly proud of and we believe we have set a benchmark in CBT project management training that is far superior to alternative products available in the market.

The typical model is to allow students two weeks of CBT self study time, followed by a morning’s classroom workshop where the methodology is discussed and students write a small examination. This is repeated for another 2 x two weekly sessions and the students write the Foundation examination at the end of the 6 week period.

The benefit of this approach is that students still have personal contact with an accredited trainer who can assist with reinforcing concepts and clarifying the more complex PRINCE2® concepts. This approach also commits students to completing the course in the shortest available time.
