What is OBASHI®?

OBASHI is a breakthrough in Information Technology thinking that will enable you to clearly see how your business actually works facilitating better decisions as a result.
OBASHI allows you to create a visual map that shows:

    • how your business works
    • the assets that make it work
    • the inter-dependencies between those assets

 

With OBASHI® you can design, monitor and optimize your business better; in a way which is easy to understand and, more importantly, easy to communicate across the rest of the business.
Whether your challenge is reducing costs, driving competitive advantage or both; you need to think OBASHI®.

How can I train for the OBASHI® examinations?

Training for OBASHI® will be available from a network of Accredited Training organisations (ATOs) who will be assessed and certified by APMG-International.

Do I have to receive training to sit the exam?

No, however this is recommended. In addition to receiving accredited training, individuals also have the option of self-study to prepare for the examinations.

How do I sit the exam?

The exams can be taken with your chosen training organisation as part of your training course, or directly through the APM Group who have open centres where you can take the exams without needing to do the training course. The open centres where the exams take place are located in London, Milton Keynes, York and Chester.

How much does it cost to sit the OBASHI® examination?

If you are sitting the examinations through an accredited training organisation, the cost of the exam is generally included in the course fee.

Are there any pre-requisites for the OBASHI® examination?

To be eligible to take the OBASHI® qualification, candidates are expected to have studied the official OBASHI® manual.

What is the main publication for OBASHI®?

The OBASHI® qualification scheme has one main supporting publication called “The OBASHI® Methodology”.

Which languages is the OBASHI® examination available in?

The OBASHI® examination is currently only available in English. Further translations are considered based on demand.

How long will it take to learn the OBASHI® material?

For individuals self-studying it is almost impossible to say. As all candidates have different experience and amount of time available for study, it varies from person to person. We suggest you buy the manual and have a look through for yourself before deciding how long you need to spend learning.
For those studying with an accredited training organisation, we recommend investigating course structures with individual providers, as many will offer tailored and blended learning solutions.

How long is the OBASHI® qualification valid for?

The examination is not valid for a defined period and will not expire.

Are there plans to introduce a higher level qualification?

Following the successful launch of the Foundation level of OBASHI®, development work will start on a Practitioner level qualification.

When can I expect the results of my OBASHI® examination?

The examination is marked on location with provisional results provided immediately after marking.

When will I receive my certificate?

A certificate will be dispatched to successful candidates approximately 2 weeks after we have received your exam paper back into our offices.
Please note that if you have taken your examinations via an ATO, certificates are dispatched to ATOs. Therefore if you have not received your certificate shortly after the above time frames please contact your ATO directly.

What is the pass mark for the OBASHI® examinations?

Candidates must achieve a score of 30/50 (60%) to pass.

Can I use the OBASHI® logo?

The OBASHI® logo may only be used with the permission of APMG-International. If APMG-International believe the logo is being used in an inappropriate manner, then we may insist that the logo is used in a suitable alternative manner or is withdrawn from use. All materials that contain the logo must be submitted to APMG-International for approval before publication.

What pass mark is required to be eligible to become an OBASHI® trainer?

To be eligible to apply to become an OBASHI® trainer, individuals must achieve a score of 66% (33/50) in the exam.
