OVERVIEW

The Agile Project Management qualification is aimed at those working in a project-focused environment, who wants to be more agile.

Agile is based on the proven fundamentals within DSDM Atern. This new certification provides the ability to deliver Agile Projects in organisations requiring firm standards and visibility around Project Management, while enabling the fast pace, change and empowerment provided by Agile.

The project management course will:

  • Explain how to lay the foundations for successful agile projects
  • Explain how to manage an agile project
  • Compare and clarify the different management styles needed for successful agile projects
  • Provide integration with project management approaches, such as PRINCE2®

The Agile Project Management scheme consists of two qualification levels: Foundation and Practitioner, with an examination for each. The Foundation exam must be completed successfully before moving on to the Practitioner level.

PRE-REQUISITE LEARNING

Course delegates should have some experience in a project environment. Delegates who successfully complete the Foundation exam are encouraged to pursue Agile Practitioner accreditation.

COURSE CONTENT

This project management course follows the syllabus set down by the APM Group and DSDM Consortium, including:

  • Atern Principles
  • The Lifecycle
  • Roles and Responsibilities
  • Iterative Development
  • Configuring the Lifecycle for Evolution
  • Delivering Quality
  • Project Management
  • Risk Management
  • Configuration Management

COURSE DURATION & DELIVERY

This is an intensive three day course leading to the Agile Foundation examination which takes place on the final day. The multiple-choice, closed book exam is one hour and consists of 60 questions. Delegates must obtain 50% out of the 60 available marks.

Delegates receive the following:

  • Accredited course material
  • Agile Project Management Handbook
  • Sample questions and Case Studies

Depending on experience, delegates are encouraged to devote at least 20 hours of pre-course studying before attending the course. Evening work is also required during the course.

This course is delivered with a blend of classroom training interventions and practical syndicate and individual sessions. All our facilitators are accredited by the APMG.

The Agile Project Management course may be delivered at our premises or alternatively we also tailor the course to be delivered in-house with adequate attendees.
